Standalone ESUNT

Standalone ESUNT is the planned independent application of End-To-End Secure User Network Technology, designed to provide secure communication capabilities without requiring integration into an existing messaging platform. It combines ESUNT's serverless, elliptic-curve-based security architecture with a dedicated user interface for managing protected communications, contacts, and groups.

An Independent Secure Communication Solution

While ESUNT can be developed as an additional protection layer for existing communication applications, its architecture also supports a standalone product with its own communication environment.

The standalone approach is intended to provide users with direct control over their secure relationships, locally managed cryptographic material, and communication workflows.

Rather than depending on another application's user interface or integration capabilities, standalone ESUNT would provide a dedicated environment built around its own security model.

Designed for Multiple Platforms

Standalone ESUNT is envisioned as a cross-platform application, beginning with Android and potentially extending to iOS and desktop operating systems.

The objective is to provide a consistent security model across supported devices while adapting the application interface and functionality to each platform.

The existing ESUNT interface concepts illustrate how secure contacts, groups, and communication functions could be organized in mobile and desktop environments.

Secure Contacts and Groups

A central feature of the proposed standalone application is the management of secure communication relationships.

Users would be able to organize individual contacts and groups, establish shared secure contexts, and manage the cryptographic relationships associated with their communications.

Different contacts and groups are intended to use separately managed cryptographic contexts, supporting independent control over their protection settings and associated cryptographic material.

Establishing Secure Connections

Standalone ESUNT is designed to support several methods for establishing secure relationships between participating users.

These include in-person methods such as QR code exchange and NFC, together with alternative approaches intended for users who cannot meet physically.

Once the required shared secure context has been established, participating devices are intended to generate and manage the corresponding cryptographic material locally.

Planned Communication Features

The standalone application is intended to provide a range of communication capabilities built around ESUNT's independent security architecture.

Secure Messaging

Text messaging is a primary planned capability. Communication content would be encrypted locally before transmission and recovered within the ESUNT application at the receiving endpoint.

Voice Communication

The proposed product roadmap also includes protected voice communication, with the intention of applying ESUNT's security principles to supported real-time communication workflows.

File Exchange

Secure file exchange is another planned capability, allowing supported files to be protected before transmission and recovered by authorized participating users.

The implementation, supported formats, performance, and availability of these features will be determined during product development.

Local Key Management

Standalone ESUNT is intended to give users direct control over the cryptographic material associated with their secure communication relationships.

Planned capabilities include managing multiple secure contexts, rotating cryptographic material, and removing selected local security information when a relationship is discontinued.

The practical effectiveness of these mechanisms will depend on implementation details, device security, operating-system behavior, and successful technical validation.

Independent Protection and Practical Usability

Security and usability must work together. A secure communication application should make essential protection controls understandable without unnecessarily complicating ordinary communication.

The ESUNT interface concepts therefore emphasize contact organization, visible security status, and accessible controls for managing protected relationships.

These designs are intended to guide development and usability testing rather than represent completed application functionality.

Development Priorities

The first development objective is an Android minimum viable product (MVP) demonstrating the essential ESUNT security workflow.

Initial implementation will focus on establishing secure relationships, generating and managing cryptographic material locally, and demonstrating protected communication between participating endpoints.

Additional communication features, broader platform support, interface refinement, interoperability testing, and security assessment will follow according to development progress and available resources.

The longer-term objective is to turn the ESUNT technology concept into a practical, independently controlled secure communication product that can serve both individual users and organizations.
